Our Services

JAFC provides behavioural support services to agencies, organizations and institutions that work with children, adolescents, adults and seniors who are experiencing behavioural, social, emotional and psychiatric difficulties in their home and communities. At Johnson Adult Foster Care (JAFC), we offer a range of comprehensive services designed to support adults and seniors with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and other special needs. Our goal is to foster independence and improve the quality of life for those we serve.

Our Services

In cooperation with appropriate family members, we complete an individualized assessment for each client and make recommendations for services that will best meet their needs. We stay in touch with extended family and keep them informed about important observed changes in physical and mental status. We provide services based on specific requests that may include any of our “possible” services.
Currently we provide:
We also provide Fee-for-Service contracts as well as services based on specific requests as we understand not every situation is the same. We position valuable professionals in the field of Social and Community Services to support and assist our clients to ensure and promote growth in their daily lives.

JAFC Support

At Johnson Adult Foster Care, the heart of our success is a team of exceptional individuals, united by a singular mission: to champion growth, empower lives, and nurture the resilient adolescents, adults and seniors who are experiencing behavioural, social, emotional and psychiatric difficulties who we support on a daily basis. With a harmonious blend of compassion, professionalism, and innovation, our staff exemplify the pinnacle of quality care in our field.

The Special Needs of This Client Group Are As Follows:

Need For Responsive Care
The Needs First program is anchored on providing the adult with responsive care. From the first day of service, the foster parents find several opportunities per day to show the person that we listen; we care and we have the time and resources to make his/her life more comfortable.
Need For Safety
The Needs First program assures the client that he/she is safe from day one. If there is another client in the home who is aggressive or demanding, the program will be designed to keep the two clients apart until we can find an effective program to protect the vulnerable individual. If the client has self abusive behaviour problems, we use environmental controls, such as providing a helmet to a head banger until we can assess and treat the behaviour more effectively.
