Our Caregiver Selection Process

In addition to a thorough background check, we carefully interview, screen, and check references on all of our caregivers. Our selection process assures our clients peace of mind, quality services, and the safety of their possessions.
  1. Plan Of Care: The JAFC social worker prepares a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for the client within the first 30 days of service. The following people are invited to a meeting to discuss the plan of care: the client, professional people involved in his/her care, such as the referral source if appropriate and family members. The participants to the plan of care meeting have a decisive role in the content of the plan.
  2. Engaging client in his own plans: The social worker and foster parent will explain the content of the plan of care to the client if he/she cannot directly participate in the meeting. JAFC staff will make every effort to bring the client’s preferences and ideas into the plan of care. The client will be asked to approve of the plan if he/she is capable.
  3. The steps we take to ensure quality care Quality care is a relationship outcome between client and their caregiver. Quality care means that the client feels cared about, respected and treated fairly. Quality care also means that we safeguard the client’s identity by safeguarding the client’s memories and nurturing lifelong relationships with his/her family.
